small rectangle shows up in top left area of screen.

I created a red background using the media generator.

I then added a lens flare.

Moving the lens flare to the top left quadrant, I see a shadow of a rectangle that prevents the flare from showing through it!

I have closed out VP14 a few times and have been able to recreate it. I don't want to though!!

What causes this to happen? And how to fix it?

If you add the FX to the event level it moves with the event. You might want it on the track level.

Make sure you do not have the Effects Split screen enabled.
