Smooth playback of stills with pan and crop

I am wondering what I have to do to get smooth playback of stills with pan and crop moves in Vegas 9 (64bit). The stills are 2500 pixels at their largest dimension and 150 dpi if that is any factor. They play fine static but stutter when I make a move with the pan and corp setting. My project properties are set to HD 1080-60i (1920x1080, 29.970 fps). I am able to play Cineform clips at the full frame rate in Best (full) playback mode.

Thanks.

Is this when you do a preview, or after you have rendered out?
I have done this a lot, I use track motion, not pan/crop. And no stutter whatsoever.

Try to change the keyframe moves to smooth - point the keyframe, right click - choose smooth.(default linear).

I get this in preview. I just tried rendering a section with a still and moves, which I had done in pan and crop, and it was fine. With the stuttering though it's hard to make editing decisions so I'll see what I can do with track motion. Thanks.

Try doing a dynamic RAM prerender before previewing. Select a small portion of the move, press Shift-B. This will do a quick render of that section to RAM, and then the preview should play back stutter-free.

You may have to increase the amount of memory set aside for this in Options / Preferences / Video. Larger frame sizes require a lot more memory.

Chienworks, Thanks, that does the trick.
