SMPTE timecode

Does anyone know how to generate SMPTE timecode with vegas? I want to jam a slate to either Vegas or a PC, but have no idea how to do it...

(I know that Metacorder for apple can do it...)

I think one can do this using MIDI TC.

One would need a MIDI TC to SMPTE TC converter as Vegas uses MIDI TC. Very simular but you still need a converter to sync to / from external devices.
I am not 100% sure, so I would confirm this.

Brian Tannkerseley used to have some SMPTE files on an FTP if you needed smpte AS audio

"smpte as audio" on this sites' search should yield some good results, might be in the old forum
