It seems that a snapshot of the HDV 1080-60i Intermediate avi comes up as regular dv. If you render the snapshot again to 1080-80i intermediate avi it kind of is not hdv and is not changed at all as far as resolution. Snapshot taken with preview at best full.

I’m not seeing that here. My snapshots are 1440x1080. The snapshot takes the project’s dimensions not the media’s. Are you sure you set your project to HDV 1440x1080?

Pardon my English. I should have said after the m2t file is changed by Cineform to avi and applied to the timeline the avi file is 720 x 480 and the resultant snapshot is 720 x 480. After placing it on the same timeline again and then rendering to hdv 1080-60i the snapshot does render to 1080i but it still is as fuzzy as it was on the timeline. In other words all the mechanics work fine but the original 1080i sharpness is not restored for the snapshot. I would have to open up another veg file with the m2t file on the timeline to get the full resolution (1440) snapshot to apply it to the 720 x 480 veg file that is being edited.
