So I'm building a new PC, hardware suggestions?

I am gonna build a PC for gaming and video editing and Vegas 15 is my current NLE. I have a very vague understanding of Vegas' weaknesses, so I need assistance for hardware choices.

I understand that Vegas operates more efficiently with a faster CPU than a CPU with more cores, so I was thinking about choosing the i7-8086K and it's almost 5 GHz speed with Overclocking. I'm not sure if waiting for the i7-9700K is a better bet, despite it (maybe) being slower. I am wondering if more ram or faster ram would be better for Vegas. Then I'm torn on the GPU. I am debating whether to still continue with Nvidia's GeForce or move to AMD's Radeon. The RTX 2080 Ti looks attractive to me, but I am still unsure of Vegas' support for GeForce.

Would my build work for Vegas in it's current state? I'm namely looking for faster preview speeds for multiple layers of 4K video at Best quality, faster rendering would be nice too. If not, what suggestions would you have for me?

For workstation use: Ryzen Threadripper CPU (the Intel chips don't offer enough bang for the buck to justify the extra cost, and threadripper does better at heavily multi-threaded tasks like Cinema 4D anyway), at least 64GB DDR4, Latest AMD GPU (you get what you pay for, so put some budget into this one). AMD seems to be ahead of Nvidia when it comes to GPGPU usage (OpenCL) which means faster rendering in Vegas, plus it works better with technology like ProRender in Cinema4D.

That said, I use Nvidia, and if you need a gaming PC as well, they are definitely the route to take, and it still works very well with Vegas. I'm also eyeing the 20 series GTX cards as my next upgrade.
