Yesterday I went to PHOTOKINA in Köln Gemany.
This is the most important Multimedia event in Europ!
They where all there: Sony, Canon, Avid, Adobe, with of course Premiere, FCT PRO etc. You name it, it was there.
I went directly to the huge Sony stand and looked around for Vegas.
IT WAS NOT THRERE.
I Asked several sales people about Vegas, you wont believe this
they did'nt know what I was talking about, never even heard about it.
They looked at me, as I was coming from Mars.
Feld very very disappointed.
Still love Vegas.

Well, Sony Pictures is not Sony. And Sony Pictures is not well represented here in Germany.

Don't wait till there'll be localizations of Vegas. No signs at all this will happen (though I don't understand that either).

Same thing at IBC this year (and last year)..
Sony Pictures might be not the same as thing as Sony (I don't know), but if you want to compete in any way with Adobe Premiere and FCP.. you should be there.. Wether it's Sony Pictures or Sony..

It's pretty hard to get a big company all on the same page; I discovered yesterday that there is a company called Sony Oxford that makes very high quality software plugins (reverb, etc.). I'm guessing that the history is that Sony boughta plugin company called Oxford, just as they bought Sonic Foundry. Anyway, the plugins are for ProTools only, no DX; so no Vegas/Sound Forge compatibility.
