8.0b is a joke. Like SpeedEDIT (a bigger joke)
The biggest problems with 8a still exist in 8b.
So when will we see c?
Or will it be like Vegas 64 bit and never come.
Avid looks better and better.
So does Final Cut Pro. At least they work.
Nice to see all the wedding editors respond. Very helpful.
Look, if you wannabee's are happy with buggy software, that's your problem not mine. So be it.
As far as me, Vegas Pro8 a and b is a joke.
Buggier than Hillary Clinton and that's buggy.
As a producer/editor since before most of you were born, I have come to expect more, particularly from Sony.
I have noticed that since Sony bought out Sonic Foundry, little progress has been made. That sucks. It should be the other way around. The software should be taking HUGH steps forward and it's stuck with Version 7 being somewhat stable, some of the time and don't dare put 7 on Vista.
Pro8b (on XP Pro or Vista, 32 bit or 64 bit) crashes faster than a three day old meth freak. Pro8a at least coughed first. 8b just goes into the ethers.
Not worth a damn when time is money.
Oh, and 18 to 20 hours for a Blu-Ray burn? You got to be kidding me.
Instead of posting completely useless postings you'd better invest your time in sending detailed bug reports to the official bug report adress.
I also work on FCP and I wish FCP would once do such a good job as Vegas always did and just does (as 8.0b) to me ...
I'll put my credentials up against yours any day of the week and Vegas Pro works just fine for me. I have an Avid Media Composer, Premiere CS3 and Vegas Pro. When starting a project, 99% of the time I go straight to Vegas. I've been using it since v2 and it has never crashed on me. Perhaps Vegas doesn't like your attitude and crashes on purpose.
Certainly there seems to still be some issues however some have found solutions. Perhaps if we knew:
a) Specifically what your issues are.
b) What you're running on hardware wise.
We might be able to offer some advice.
Assuming you are running multiple desks they may or may not be of much help but throwing your hands up in the air before exploring all the possibilities is pretty pointless, apart from reducing your blood pressure.
You are like the Class Clown back in High School. You don't really contribute anything useful to this forum, but it is hilarious the way you bait the serious pros into a flame war with you.
I look forward to your rants, if only to remind ourselves not to take anything TOO SERIOUSLY.
I only wish you would use a different alias, as you are obviously trying to be as offensive as possible. But there really is no need to drag that ugly racist moniker into any forum, unless you are just too lazy to change your screen name from your Ku Klux Klan forum.
pity you can't kill file a thread..... i have to admire you all for even bothering with coonass, who i plonked long ago, so didn't realise this was a rerun ;-(
i must confess that in my early days of adoption (with nearly every program i've worked with), there'd be times when i'd fire off broadsides towards whatever avenue was open - ng's, support, etc., but with age comes acceptance that not everything is going to work properly, and that includes the operator....
i have had problems with every nle program i've ever worked with. be it major headaches with avid and hardware, thru to vegas and tc issues, but none have offered the support i've found here, nor offered a program that at it's basic level was so stable or hardware flexible.
i'm sure there's always going to be problems of one sort or another, it's inevitable in such a complicated program, but between here and madison, i'm sure they'll get ironed out.
I have a license for Avid that I will gladly donate to you provided you do not ever show up on this forum again. I mean it. You can never come on this forum under this name or any new/past name. You can no longer utter the words Vegas unless you are actually going there on vacation.
Your tired and endless rants border line on ZippyGaloo who also was a real pain in the ass on the forums, always threatening with FCP. Then he was bought off with a free copy provided he pissed off and never bothered this forum again.
So, to you, the one with a racist sounding moniker, I offer you the same deal for the sake of all that is holy, take the Avid I am offering and please shove it where the sun does not shine and leave our community.
If you are as serious as you claim, this is definitely a win-win for all of us here on the forum and for yourself. PLEASE TAKE THE DEAL!
Coonass, or Coon-ass, is an epithet used in reference to a person of Cajun ethnicity.
Although some Cajuns use the word in regard to themselves, other Cajuns view the term as an ethnic slur against the Cajun people, especially when used by non-Cajuns. Socioeconomic factors appear to influence how Cajuns are likely to view the term: working-class Cajuns tend to regard the word "coonass" as a badge of ethnic pride; whereas middle- and upper-class Cajuns are more likely to regard the term as insulting or degrading, even when used by fellow Cajuns in reference to themselves.
Despite an effort by Cajun activists to stamp out the term, it can be found on T-shirts, hats, and bumperstickers throughout Acadiana, the 22-parish Cajun homeland in south Louisiana.
So can we call this the "C" word since Cajuns are offended by those who aren't Cajuns yet use the word? Sounds eerily familiar to the way other ethnics use words to describe one another.
I lived in Louisiana for 6 years and new many Cajuns. Never heard the term once. I must have been hanging out with the ones who thought highly of themselves.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but you can't be that much of a backwater bloke to also know that "coon" is sometimes used as a derogatory racial slur. Not that there's any racism deep in the heart of Louisiana, of course.
The nature of your posts paints you as a rather unsavory character. Even though I'll give you a pass on the racist charge, you obviously aren't here to gain help or support from the community, or to root the software on to greater and greater functionality.
But, you've succeeded in getting the attention you crave. I hope you are well fed.
Avid looks better and better. So does Final Cut Pro.
Then go use them and STFU. Who gives a Rats A$$ about your so called experience. We certainly don't. You're just another troll so face up to the fact that nothing you have to say has any worth or substance for the rest of us here.
Coonass may mean cajun in Louisiana, but I'm from Arkansas and in many places, over many years, I have heard that word used as an adjective before the word n*****.
It's part of why I left the South. (Though imagine my surprise when I heard such words used with even greater abandon on the East Coast by persons of Irish, Italian, etc., descent.)
Tomorrow is Martin Luther King Day. Have a little respect.
And please change your user name before I complain to Sony.
