So, which motherboard and Monitor should I get?

Hi,

I think I need to upgrade my old system. What do you guys recommend in terms of a good motherboard (and chip) that can handle video editing? (Mostly in Vegas, some Photoshop, magic bullet). Also do any motherboard comes with firewire? Or is it best to buy that separately?

I also want a 20" monitor but my budget is no more that $400.
I saw this:

Thanks for you help on any feeback.

I'm really happy with my Intel D975XBX2 Extreme Series motherboard. I also bought the Samsung SyncMaster 215TW monitors. Very nice display with excellent colors reproduction right out of the box. The complete specs for my PC are on the PC Equipment page of my web site.

Although I have different equipment than John I do have that same motherboard and highly recommend it.

Foxconn has two that are equally well built.

The Foxconn Mars

and the

Foxconn X38A

Newegg carries both of them.

The Intel board is not carried by as many vendors right now.
