SoFo: DVD Architect is missing two key features

I've been using the Ulead DVD Workshop until I tried DVD Architect.
I really like the user interface of DVD Architect but I find that it has
two features that make it unusable:

1. Inability to link menu items. I render many different video segments separately in Vegas Video 4. I need the ability to play the segments in whatever order I choose when I create the DVD and not be forced to create one giant MPEG2 file. This allows me to make last minute minor modifications to specific segments and avoid the need to re-render the entire video.

Ulead DVD Workshop allows each item in the playlist to either play the next item in the list or to go back to the main menu. This is an essential feature missing from DVD Architect.

2. Timeout. In Ulead DVD Workshop, I can set a timeout to autostart playing a specific item after 0-30 seconds. This is useful for people who are not very DVD savy, so they don't have to press play or select the specific item to play, as the DVD will auto-start.

If you fix these items, then I think DVD Architect has a chance of becoming useful to me. As it stands, I'm back to using Ulead DVD Workshop.

My #1 reason for not using DVD Architect (after having bought it) is your #1 item as well. Not being able to control whether the clip returns to the menu or continues to the next clip is a critical missing function that makes it useless with segmented MPEG files. Even Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 ($45) has this feature so I don’t consider it advanced at all. It’s pretty basic.

SoFo, is there any chance of that one small feature showing up in a patch? ;-) (hey, I can dream can’t I)

Back to DVD Movie Factory 2.

What are the drawbacks to ULead's DVD Workshop (especially when compared to DVD Architect)??

The major drawbacks to DVD Workshop compaired to DVD Architect are: 1. No preview of moving menus and buttons. 2. No automatic scene selection menus. The two concerns you mentioned in this thread were discussed to death on this forum about a month ago.
