I've just loaded software, Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 17, and I'm getting "unmanaged error 0xc0000005" and "Movie Studio is shutting down." No matter what type of file I attempt to load, it crashes, any advise?
Thanks, yes, VMS opens ok. It also plays the example movie preloaded on startup firsttime, no other OFX because this is a firsttime load of any editing software of any sort. I haven't ID'd he GPU as yet, it came with the Windows 10 PC I purchased, pretty standard stuff, brand new, and I have not tried still images buy have tried various vid formats recommended by the MAGIX troubleshooter bot which tried to reformat a few, but nothing worked. I don't even believe that a reinstall would work, at this point because I'd be uploading the very same corrupted copy. MAGIX should be apprised that they are distributing bad copies from their own site!
I don't know what to do at this point, besides asking for my money back from BestBuy. Any ideas on a clean copy?
Without more detailed info it's hard to pinpoint your problem as its probably something related to your system. VMS17 Plat works well for me.
But try this. Go to Options/Preferences and the File I/O tab. If the first box (Hardware decoding) is ticked, untick it. Restart VMS, try adding files and report back
YouDaMan, EricLNZ! It worked like a charm. Thanks for your much needed help. Now let's see if VMS17 is all that it's cracked up to be... I'll be starting today. Let's see? Thanks Again! Sincerely.
@Brian-McKye Good, an easy fix. But thanks should go to @VEGASDerek as he has mentioned this fix a few times. Perhaps by default it should be switched off.
Wow. Thanks all. VMS 17 was working great till I added a MP4 it just would not let me do anything. Wrote MAGIX help a few days ago, however you guys are much more amazing. Now...back to editing after a 1 week pause
