Some files completely green, most not.

So this problem has been bringing all my piss to a boil this past week, i've recently re-installed Sony Vegas Pro 13.0, and now some of my mp4 video files, (alot of these files being recorded footage from bandicam) are completely green.

I've tried the usual Compound Plugin trick, it restores the video files back to normal, but in return makes some other files go green as well, but not too many of them, and also makes the loading time before opening Vegas even longer. (I'm using a laptop, Intel Core i3-7100u processor in case you need context.)

I've also tried to reinstall multiple times but to no avail, if anyone under any circumstance can help me with this, it would be most kind.

What "compound plugin" trick?

My advice is to approach this methodically, not haphazardly re-installing, changing dll's, etc.

Start with the FAQ and troubleshooting page. If you need further help here, you will need to post all the relevant details of media, etc. (also seen on FAQ page.)

While I have no idea what this usual trick is, but if it works on some files while hurting others, well, why not just use it on the files that need it and not use it on the others.

I could be mistaken, but it could be that jphilip12 is referring to changing compoundplug reader to some other decoder. I only joined the Vegas club at 15 Pro, so I'm aware of the so4compundplug issues in that version, but I don't know what reader VP13 used - was it the same?

If it had the same so4 reader, or a similarly "picky" reader, it may not be as simple as just using it on some files and not on others as it is session based, rather than clip based.

However, Red Prince, your suggestion has actually given me a thought - jphilip12, could you transcode the mp4 files (AVC/h264 codec I guess?) to a different codec such as an intermediate like cineform or prores or something then use those files as Vegas would use a different reader for them and might play them back happily without any green screens? You could transcode using something like Handbrake, or you could select the right version of coumpoundplug for each clip (one at a time) in Vegas and render each one to a suitable intermediate.
