Some iPhone clips end up vertical

I shoot some things on my iPhone 5s. Some of the clips end up on the timeline just as they should, but some end up in a vertical position. I mean the preview window is vertical (!) but the image is horisontal, resulting in huge black areas on the top and bottom, and whatever I try I can't get the Picture to lie down.
Anyone knows what is wrong?
In the event properties dialogue it is possible to change the clip's rotation and if I choose 90 degrees clockwise the image fills the preview window nicely, and the black areas disappear. But now the image also gets vertical as well as the preview window.

I have had other issues before with iPhone clips and rolled back to QT 8.7 and it helped. IPhone clips are playing well - except for this strange problem now.

By the way, is it possible to attach or paste a Picture here to illustrate what one is talking about?

If you record with the iPhone in portrait then the image will be rotated 90deg and you end up with what you see. The only way to correct this is rotating the clip and zoom into it.

The forum won't host your pictures but you can post them elsewhere and then embed a link to it in the forum. There's a sticky up at the top of the forum's thread list that explains the tags to use.
