Some Multicam Scripts Ready for Beta Testing

This is a continuation of a sub-topic that started in another multicam thread a few days ago. I offered to provide a few of the multicam related scripts I have written. I now have a total of 5 multicam scripts available on my web site:

1) A script to load all multicam media in a directory into a project. It assumes the first character in each AVI file name is the camera number. It loads clips from each camera on separate tracks

2) Once all the media is loaded on individual tracks, the next script will move the clips to the time on the time line when the clip was shot (based on camera clock). This script REQUIRES that the clips be captured using ScenAlyzer ($39 - www.scenalyzer.com) since Vegas scripts do not expose the camera time of a clip to scripts (ScenAlyzer puts the date/time in the clip file name)

3) Another script is a basic multicam editing script. Similar to other multicam scripts. (Markers 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. call out camera) But this script does not merge all clips to one track. It edits the clips on their original tracks. It also removes unused portions of all clips (to minimize media size if you SaveWithTrimmedMedia). Audio tracks are not edited. This script does not adjust/compress time.

4) Similar to #3, this script allows you to select from individual cameras. But also allows you to specify 'no camera'. These blocks are removed and the remaining media is shifted left to close the gap.

5) This script takes a fully edited multicam project and allows you remove complete blocks of time while maintaining the individual edits within the kept blocks. Typically used to take a real-time full ceremony segment and convert it to ceremony highlights. Or to take a full multicam edited segment and create a short lobby trailer.

I have been using these scripts for quite a while. But some of them were a little too customized to publish. So I changed them to be more generic. But that means there is a possibility that I introduced a problem or two. So that's why I'm calling this a beta right now.

Feel free to download these and play with them. These scripts are as-is officially. However, I'd like to know if you have problems or questions. I will answer as time permits. Contact me via the email address on my web site.

Definitely appreciated on this forum. We always welcome new scripts that will inevitably end up saving time and money on projects. :) Kudos.

Ah, phooey. I just spent the past three hours doing my ballet multi-cam edits the old way. I was waiting for these new scripts. I've got another multi-cam shoot in four weeks (another dance performance) and I'll use your scripts then.

Thanks!!

I'm so sorry, John. I had a super busy weekend and just came up for air.

Nice, but a bit complicated

What would you recommend to simplify it?

Sorry, no answers there. It's really cool, but I'm just not that good at scripts to use it thats all.
