Some parts don't capture?? USB device?

mark30 wrote on 1/20/2003, 6:16 PM
Hi,
I'm running VV 3.0. And in videocapture my dv camera is first detected as a microsoft USB device. Turning it off and on does detect it, but some parts of my tape are not captured. When I hit 'stop' it gives an error.. (see below). I just can't do anything then anymore.. My system:
AMD 2100+, 256 RAM.

Hope anybody knows about this problem... thanks
Mark

Hi Mark

If you can please give us some info on your operating system, firewire card etc. Also if you're able to capture using anything else?

I'm running Win2000, using the firewire connection on the mainboard (asus A7V333), with an Nvidia Geforce 4 card.
I really don't get it since most parts do capture well, and this particular part captures in other (cheap) software (but worse format of course)

Could it be a bad tape? There's no dropped frames so I just don't get it.

If you are capturing from firewire, the quality/format would be the same regardless of the software. Are you sure you are not capturing USB?
