Some thoughts on a video specific camera (mid to late 2019 purchase)

I will be adding a new body (M43) in the coming year. Right now a Gh5 seems to be the leading contender but of course the new Black Magic Pocket also seems like a good option - but stabilization in body and lens is important. Anyone used both of these cameras or have one or the other and like to give some input. I've spent a lot of time on DVXUSER but I think folks here are more in line with what I do. Thanks.

I'm eyeballing the BlackMagic, but if stabilization is what you need, the Gh5 is a fantastic camera. It never ceases to amaze me what it can do. The HDR capability is a big plus, especially moving forward over these next few years as it becomes standard in all TVs.

Olympus has some fantastic glass available for it as well. Be sure to check out their offerings. Their 7-14mm rectilinear wide angle (as wide as fisheye, but no distortion) is my favorite wide lens.

Well the BMPCC4K may be released in September, it will have stabilising via lens only, first real footage has just been released. Rumors of a pending APS-C Sony A9. The Pana GX80, not too expensive but I think only 15m run time in 4K. GH5 is a really great option, no 30m time run limit, 2 cards, etc etc, just weaker AF than the competition. Other users here have probably more knowledge than I on this, just my 2 cents.
