In preparation for some new AD/DA converters on their way, for the last few weeks I have been going totally tapeless using my tascam DA-88's only for AD converters.
I am running into some problems
1: lack of tape style auto input. I know there are some workarounds, but none seem to fit my older clients.
2: The controls being disabled when a track is armed. You have to stop and disarm the track if the client wants you to turn it down, resulting in constant arming and disarming of tracks. and a related problem;
3: inability to punch in on the fly. even if the position of the punch wouldnt be exact this is a sorely missed feature for me since I started recording straight in to vegas.
4: glue! after punching a bunch of stuff, for many functions, I have to stop the work process and render the track to a new track. A "glue" function would be cool, especially one that could keep crossfades and such
