some way to "rescan source" files?

I got so many hits when searching the form, and none of them seemed applicable, so I may be using the wrong terms.

I'm making a slideshow with static pictures. I've had to edit the source pictures in Photoshop AFTER I already inserted them into the slideshow in Vegas Movie Studio. When I go back and look at the pictures in Vegas, the pictures aren't updated to the recent edit.

Does Vegas store the old versions somewhere that I need to change? Or, is there a way to tell Vegas to 'rescan' the folder where the pictures are located so it gets the updated edit?

Hopefully this makes sense.

Thanks.

When you save the pics in Photoshop, are you saving them with the same filename and get the "replace file" dialog box? If so, it should update automatically in the timeline. After all, items in the timeline are just pointers to the actual file.

If you saved them with a new filename, use the Replace function in the Project media tab. Right click on the pics that need replacing and choose Replace.

I'm saving with the same filename. That's why I don't understand them not getting updated in Vegas.

But, I'll triple-check, just to make sure I'm doing what I think I'm doing.

I closed and re-opened Vegas and it looks like it's updated now.
Maybe the pictures were 'cached' somewhere in Vegas and maybe re-starting the program cleared it?

I guess I don't care why, but it appears to be using the new versions of the photos now.

Thanks.
