Someone to explain Color Correction

I havent had to do color correction in Vegas but I have done some in Premiere Pro. In Premiere Pro, I can just open up my effect and select the black, gray, and white points and get decent color. However, Vegas5 has baffled me. Is there a tutorial somewhere that shows step by step process with examples? I looked in the manual but possibly overlooked it.

Thanks

You can do the same thing in Vegas. A good tutorial on this can be found at: BillyBoy Vegas Tutorials - especially #8.

If you want a really good resource that explains the scopes, histogram, and a whole lot of CC theory, get this book. I started with BillyBoy's tutorial, and it's great. This book takes you to the next level, IMO.

Move any of the color wheel's control point more to the edge in the drection of the colors you want to pick up. The further you move it, the more saturation of THOSE colors.

For example to warm up the image try moving the middle color wheel up and left between Y1 and R. For cooler, move down and right between Cy and B. Generally you want to remove color shading setting the white point and black point with the low and high color wheels. If you set good black and white points the shading is removed and you rarely need to fiddle that much with the middle wheel unless you want to alter the colors from what they should be or if things are reallly messed up.
