I am using Sony Movie Studio Platinum.
I have edited many videos and for each one all I do is to remove portions of the video. I have had a problem with about four videos out of hundreds. The problem is that there are very large borders around the videos that are created.
So first I will provide the procedure I use. For each video I edit, I create a new project. For "Video" I use the default, "Match Media Settings". I browse and select the video file then click "OK". Then I open the same video file. I don't know how much of that is necessary but I do it to ensure that the output properties match the input.
For the current video that I am having problems with, the preview that is shown during the creation of the output file shows the problem. The video appears normal while editing but when the output is being written the video looks like it is in a portrait frame with a black border on top and bottom. After the writing is done and I view the output video, I see the same thing.
The video resolution of the input file is 480x368. That is also the resolution for the project's properties. The output file's resolution is 480x854. I assume that is a problem or at least a symptom. I just don't see how that is happening. I assume there is some other property that is not obvious that is a problem.
How do I fix it? What can I do to diagnose it at least? I saved the project; the file has a "vf" extension. If there is something I can change in it then that would of course help so I do not need to re-do the edits.
