Well, it was going to be a difficult shoot and we we're going to shoot it 50i HDV but after I found out that:
a) they wanted a lot of medium to fast pans and tracking shots
b) the crew elsewhere had no experience with the Z1
We decided to just go 16:9 SD, except now to get the quality up they want to shoot DigiBeta. Now that'd be all well and good except the guys who were going to edit the thing (NOT me thankfully) can't handle DB, so it's going to fall back into my lap.
Guess I'm going to find out real quick just how well DB footage goes into Vegas, I've done it downconverted to DV25 via J30 and obviously no problems but going that way would defeat the whole exercise.
So can I ask, has anyone actually captured DB footage using the SD Connect box at 4:2:2. I was under the impression we could do that, I've got all the kit to handle it, but after having a few crash landings on outputting 4:2:2 I'd like to be 100% certain as this is a pretty serious gig for me and I'm getting more than a tad nervous.
