Sonic EPM ?? -Is choppy AVI output due to slower than recommend hard drive?

Per my message yesterday, AVI rendering and output to tape was corrupted after installing updates. I'm having a hard time determining if it is due to the DirectX DV update or the VF capture update (2h).

I was reading in the details of the VF Capture 2h file that a 7200 rpm HD was required. Mine in 5400, though has worked perfectly with the prior version of the software (2b). Could this be the cause for a choppy video and audio output in the rendered AVI files?

Since I already tried to uninstall the 2h version and reinstall the 2b version of vidcap with no fix in the problem, is there a file left in the system I need to delete to really purge version 2h or what?

Please refer to the details in yesterdays post.

I love replying to my own message but this may help some others with similar problems. I uninstalled the newer version of Vid. Capture and loaded the older version but that did not improve it until I ran REGCLEAN. That magically resolved my avi playback breakups. So whatever the problem was with the new install of Vid. Capture 2e, the registry corruption was cured with REGCLEAN (which you can download from Microsoft).

Now, maybe I will reload the newest version of the capture device again just to see if it works well with the registry cleaned up. -- after I render and record my last project that is. :)

Interesting, and good call on reg clean. Possibly some leftover DirectX trash from a pre-DVX8 installation. Glad reg clean fixed it, and we'll keep an eye on this. Important thing is you are up and running!
