Sonic Foundry Products and Winfast PVR TV Problem

I'm really lost here on this problem. I have a Leadtek TV2000XP Deluxe tv card that uses Winfast DVR software to watch TV, do tivo stuff etc. Well the problem is that whenever I try to timeshift (tivo), the program freezes. I eventually formatted my computer and did a clean Win XP install and tested the timeshifting after installing every program. All was well until I tried any Sonic Foundry product. I have Vegas, +DVD and Sound Forge 6 and the second I install and run any of them, the timeshifting of Winfast PVR freezes the program. The programs are not running at the same time, just both installed. Leaktek is of no help on this. Another note is that all the Sonic Foundry programs work perfectly and all other features of Winfast PVR work, just the timeshifting freezes.

Does anyone have the Leadtek TV2000XP Deluxe card and have timeshifting working even with their Sonic Foundry programs installed?

Thanks so much

I have the TV2000XP deluxe, Vegas and DVDA. I don't use the PVR/timeshift functions from LeadTek. I use ShowShifter to give me circa 5MB/sec 4:2:2 704x576 capture into PICvideo MJPEG PVR. I rarely record TV with it - just keyed footage directly from the SVIDEO out of the camera without hitting the reduced colour resolution of DV.

LeadTek/Ligos-codec PVR does give quite nice single-pass (of course) MPEG-2/MPEG-1 and even WMV capture - but I don't care for that in my setup.

I would consider removing the task bar tool for LeadTek PVR and try the showshifter demo. I do have the task bar PVR tool active on my PC - it doesn't crash Vegas but then I don't ever access the WinTV2000XP from Vegas so it hardly touches the hardware itself.

I'll tell you more if you think it will help?

So I guess this problem is more widespread than just me. I wish Leadtek would figure that out and work on a solution.

RBartkett, Have you been able to use your TV remote with showshifter? I tried the demo a week ago and it worked well but I am curious if my Winfast remote will work. If there is any special steps to take to make it work, please be so kind as to teach me. Thanks for the info.

There is a text config file for the remote control in showshifter.
Also the SDK gives controls to provide it "yourself".
Co-incidentally I haven't considered using the R/C myself :)

I find the keyboard adequate, it is a deskop PC not one that is under the TV. ShowShifter is imposing at first, yet for Windows, and windows multimedia in particular, it is very good turn-key software. (ignoring the remote control pains)

I checked last night that I do have the PVR software installed alongside Vegas and no problems. I don't have the scheduler running AFAIK.
