I have dealt with many companies and venders large and small.
I have never gotten such wonderful and accurate support than With My few experiences with Sonic Foundry.

What great people and terrific service.

Recently I had a problem after updating V-4 where none of my autorun.exe files that involved MPEG-1 files would run. (Various windows errors)

I reinstalled windows several times including the latest time which after each new installed program I tested to see if my problem returned. I narrowed it down to V-4.
Uninstalled V-4 and the system worked properly again.

Called tech support. Held the phone for less than one minute.
Had my problem resolved in less than 5 minutes.
with the following fix just in case anyone is unlucky enough to encounter it:

The Fix:
Find the files "mcdsmpeg.ax" and "mcspmpeg.ax" rename them to:
"mcdsmpeg.ax.hide" and ""mcspmpeg.ax.hide
You will most likely need to go to Start, Search, For Files and Folders in
Windows to find these files.

I hope you folks at sound Sonic Foundry know how much we appreciate your attitudes and quality care!
Cheers,
Watson

I second. They are the best.

Ditto. Instead of bombarding the customer with questions about his system, a "smokescreen" that certain other companies use, perhaps to discourage or redirect criticism, SoFo addresses the problem directly and deals with it. (Some problems, of course, do require inquiries about the hardware and other programs but it's not a pattern).

Hail SoFo. Hail yes.

Couldn't agree more. No other software company I have had experience with even comes close.

I wouldn't know. I've never had to use them. That's an even more impressive accomplishment!

Let's just hope this continues once Sony takes over the company.

Ditto to all of the above! Very helpful when I needed them.

Don't need them often. Haven't needed them in a while!

This is good! :)
