Sony AVC Audio is Missing

I must be doing something wrong but I have found no combination of project and Sony AVC settings that will successfully render audio from my standard AVCHD (.mts) clips. The video renders fine but I get no audio.

I've customized the templates to get the "include audio" check box selected but that didn't do the trick.

The MainConcept MPEG-2 works like a dream - I get perfect 1080i video and audio.

Also Windows Media Video V11 delivers video and stereo so there is that MPEG-4 option.

But I want my AVC.

Any ideas?

I think it saves it as a separate file - check the folder that you saved to for an audio file separate from the video.

I've come across this same problem as well and I eventually just gave up on trying to get it to work properly. When I was able to get the audio to work the file would get messed up.

Example: Insert a 20 second clip onto the timeline, render, start playback once render is complete, the clip plays fine but then to my surprise there is an additional 3-7 seconds of white screen playback
