Sony AVC codecs

Are the Sony AVC codecs and presets -- and other codecs and presets with Sony's name -- in the list of render presets in Vegas 14 there because I have Sony Vegas 12 installed, or did Vegas 14 install those Sony codecs and presets. I don't want to uninstall Vegas 12 and reinstall Vegas 14 to find out. Thanks.

Presets are installed by every Vegas version. If you have customized presets then they are taken over by a new version. Since Vegas Pro 12 and Pro 14 can be installed side-by-side in an system, I would not deinstall VP12 but would install VP14 in addition.

Thanks Wolfgang. I'm not going to uninstall VP12. What I was interested in knowing is what codecs are installed by VP14, such as the Sony AVC codec. What I did was install VP14 on a new machine with Windows 10 freshly installed. VP14 was the only application ever installed, so no other version of Vegas ever existed on the machine. When I opened VP14 and looked at the list of codecs, the Sony AVC codec was indeed installed by VP14. If you never had a version of Vegas before, you would still get that codec with VP14.
