Sony Certified Vegas Editor (SCVE) Test

MEMFILMS wrote on 8/22/2006, 3:34 PM
Does any one know how long it takes to find out if you've passed the pratical or not? And what is the turn around time to recieve everything if you do?

I was in the Orlando, FL traing. Jeff is a great instructor. Sony should have given those who took the training a demo copy of Vegas 7 + DVD Arch. 4 or at least a great discount coupon on it when it comes out. I look foward to taking the next level cert. training.

You didnt get yours yet?
You must not have passed .....Kidding.

It probably follows some process that takes a few days to complete.
backround check, fingerprint analysis, sending the certificate to a monastary for the hand caligraphy ; 0)

Seriously, I would imagine its done/graded by guys up in Madison that have many things on their plate ,and goes thru a little more than just Ok you passed here's your logo.
Heck the last ABYC certification test I took ,was one of those computer fill in the dots answer sheets, and it took them 2 weeks to give me my results.

Of course I'm not checking my exam page daily to see if the results are up ..(cough, cough)

Although it cost a bit more, I though Jeff did a great job and the class was well worth it, even without the certification.

Im sure I passed the test as I hid subliminal messages in my video for the graders.

I thought the Subliminal FX was new to Vegas 7. Do we have it in Vegas 6 and I never noticed, or did you have to combine some other effects as a workaround?

It's there but the default text in the 1 frame clip is
"you dont remember seeing this"

"I hid subliminal messages in my video for the graders." You have to be careful.... I did that too..... told them to re-install all their laptop software and sent all their money..... well, so far, I recieved $1.43 from 39 fedex letters and it now appears that the network training class has vanished! Gee, I guess that I've to take class again to insert another subliminal message to correct errors in the first message..... or..... just have them show my new subliminal message to senior management....

Previous post was subliminal, so if you find yourself doing something strange tonight it's my fault.........

wait .........we are Vegas users, we all probably do something strange everynight!

RockledgeEng, just a heads up, don't watch your own subliminal messages at normal speed, it can be a real bummer.

Where did I put that fedex letter.... must sent money....

Apparently my wife is also using Vegas, strangely tonight I feel like finishing the floor trim in the guest bathroom. I think Im going to enjoy it too.

Ok 1 week since test ,now im getting anxious, anyword Sony on expected release of results.?
Or are they waiting for all locations to complete training B4 sending out results?
bStro wrote on 8/25/2006, 8:51 AM
I seem to recall Jeffrey mentioning last week that someone from one of the previous classes had already been "certified" by that point. Or maybe it was just that he'd taken and passed the online exam...?

It's been almost 2 weeks and no reply my test is still pending. What's going on over at Sony, what's the process? I was told that someone passed in the Chicargo training, has anyone else taken both test and passed?
MEMFILMS wrote on 8/29/2006, 4:00 PM
never mind it happened... I am SCVE certified.
epirb wrote on 8/29/2006, 4:03 PM
Woo Hoo me Too !!!!!!!!
Congrats to you too Micheal !!!
Just logged on saw the post at the top then went and checked the results.
would not have been possible w/o the support of ,ALL here on the forum, DSE, Mannie, Jeffery, Vic Milt etc.. Started using Vegas as many of us because it was so much more intuitive than all the other NLE's that I had used before.Stuck with it because "that" proved to be true but even more so because of the people I met thru here. One of the true things that make Vegas (be V4,V5,V6 and soon to come V7) a great product to me.
I will wear the SCVE logo not to impress others, but as sense of pride.
May sound corny to many of you,but not to me..
MEMFILMS wrote on 8/29/2006, 4:37 PM
Eric, I am right with you on all you said. We will where it with pride, and become experts.

"I'd like to thank God, my mom and dad, the fellas over at VASST for their training and support, the guys in Madison for creating Sony Vegas, Soundforge, and Cinescore... I will accept this certicated on the behalf of all the hard working Vegas Users out there, you know who you are... my Orlando classmates I'm praying we all passed..." This is cool my first certification as a video editor and it's with Sony...
