you're using the DV capture app, right?
Specifically, what icon pops up? I'm wondering if you're setting up for batch capture, and not capturing.

yes, I'm using the external capture program for dv capture.

No, I am not using batch.

Everything looks ok. I even set the properties of the project in vegas to 24 widescreen but still nothing.

Once I click the stop button the window comes up telling me that 0 clips were captured
0 dropped frames
0 on and on and on

Any thoughts?

Doesn't have anything to do with Cineframe 24. This is a problem I've seen in V7 a few times; in each case, closing out of the capture program, turning off the capture deck, turning it back on, and restarting the capture program did the trick.

I don't recall that I actually had to restart Vegas, but if the above doesn't work, you might try that, too.

Nothing seesm to do the trick.
I've tried everything I can possibly think of.

Perhaps there is some step missing.

let me ask this, is capturing 24p the EXACT same as capturing SD?
using the same method (program).

Remember I am using sony 8 pro

Yes , it's the same. Did you make sure the output of the camera is in DV mode and not HDV?

Hey if it's any help I had the same problem with downloading from my FX1. I was using one of the picture profiles on the camera and Vegas 8 would not download it I finally had to use my Microsoft movie program. It downloaded there and then I just saved it as a avi file and brought it into Vegas
