Regarding the Sony – what is the experience with this unit and the viewing quality of the outputted discs? Does it have any significant limitations? Are there other similar consumer priced “DV tape to finished DVD” devices?

Are there any consumer priced devices that use firewire input to capture AVI and directly output encoded DVD compliant MPEG2 files?
