Sony DVgate motion cannot read Sonic DV codec

I edit Videos using VF on my PC and want to use the avi-file in my Sony laptop and print it back to tape with DVgate Motion supplied by Sony. DVgate Motion cannot read this "wrong .avi format". How exactly do I have to change the setting that the DV Codec can be read by DVgate motion? (I use PAL DV). Thanks for any help!

I have the same problem. I've been looking for a fix for a long time.

While your waiting for an answer, try rendering your clip in MovieShaker. For some reason MovieShaker can read the clip but DVGate can't. The rendered file can be read by DVGate.

Another way to render to tape is by using the old VF capture program that came with version 1. You have to do everything manually but at least it's a way to get your video out.

I'll be waiting for an answer to your question.

This I think is an issue with the Sony DV codec and driver. You can remove (and restore) the DV Gate driver and codec using this utility:

I did. It didn't work on my Sony VAIO PCJ 100(Celeron 600 mhz, Win 98SE, Sony TR 320 Digital Camcorder)
