Sony HC-3 Zebras and Histographs

Hello All:

I am reading up on zebra lines and histograms, with the hope that I can observe these and adjust my settings accordingly when I start diving in a couple of weeks.

The Zebra frames on my HC-3 show none, 70%, and 100% as the options. I gather the Zebra frames show where the image will be overexposed. So does this mean if I see no zebra frames then there will be no overexposeframes?

On the HC-3 histograph, is this really an "apples to apples" comparison with the Video Scope? Regardless, may I humbly ask someone for some guidance on what I should do with my manual settings so that things fall into the 15 - 234 range for a typical topside shot. Note that I will be shootinger underwater, but if I can figure it oul topside then i can do it underwter.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Regards,

Kimberly
