and a few other minor things. Any ONE of the first 7 would have turned me off. All seven? Well, I'll just have to see if someone else can do better before I chuck down the money.
At one third of the size of an FX1, this consumer camcorder can be used for travel, whereas the other ones require a fair amount of enthusiasm to carry around.
Fortunately the viewfinder was high resolution, and there was a "zoom-in-to-focus" feature.
The really good performance in all but low light is great when you consider that you can get a week or two in Fidji for the difference in price.
Different strokes for different folks. This is a consumer camcorder and I suspect it will fly off the shelves as word gets out.
I must say this looks promising as an occasional second cam to go with the Z1, and maybe to use for capture/PTT to save wear on the Z1.
(incidentally, I recently bought the "Hands on HDV" DVD and had to smile when I realised the obvious - that many of you are saying "Zee One" when talking about the cam - instead of old colonials like me and our "Zed One".)

boy did that cause me some grief at NAB, had a bunch of septic tanks looking at me real odd until one of them said "Oh, he's talking about the 'Zee One'". Yish.
