sony micro-mv cams

i've been shooting video on a sony pc5 for 3 years. i like the stealthy size so much that i'm thinking about trying the ip1 micro-mv cam. does anyone know if the picture quality of the micro-mv cam will be comparable to the pc5 (mini-dv) quality? one negative of the micro-mv cam is no night vision, which i've found to be very useful in low light, especially on the black & white setting.

The MicroMV format is being abandoned by Sony. It records using relatively low bit-rate MPEG2 and the picture quality is pretty awful. Stay with MiniDV.

Stay with Mini DV. I used a Sony IP220E (MicroMV) for months and wrestled with editing MPEG2. It isn't a fun experience. I have been much happier when I traded it for a Panasonic MX500 (Mini DV). Now editing is a breeze!
