Crashes upon launching application, this after first install of purchased ver., after testing and then uninstalling free trial. Error message window comes up, if dismissed, application shuts down. If ignored, application will start after about 2 minutes. Must keep error window active in the background. If I close it, app will close also.

What operating system are you using? Is it a 64-bit or 32-bit operating system?

How fast is your processor? How much RAM do you have and how much clean, freshly defragmented space is on your main hard drive?

What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format and resolution is it? What are your project properties?

Have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime from Apple?

I have the same problem. The program used to work, but now it won't even launch due to the FileIO error. I updated the program via the Sony website, but still won't run. Won't even launch. A couple of months ago it worked fine.

Try installing the latest version of QuickTIme. There is some sort of strange inter-dependency between the 2.

So I had to uninstall and reinstall Quicktime and it got me past this issue. Before I was just running the PRSConfig.exe and set the error reporting to disabled to bypass. Now onto next issue as to why am I not able to add MP3 anymore. Worked for years.
