I did a media call for Phantom of the opera good test as the set is dark so same settings same render
On the HD timeline 50mm lot lighter. But I have to say something is different between VG10 and VG20
This shoot with a VG10 and the 17-300 would have been a disaster.
Rory did you adjust the exposure any between lenses? I see better exposure on the background lights as I'd expect with the faster lens. At 360p can't see any difference in sharpness obviously.
No I set up for the kit lens and then stopped replaced the manual Nikon at 1.8 .image straight from the cam. I was shocked that they are so close. Normally with the VG10 the images from the
Kit lens are very noisy and dark so I always use a 50mm = gives a better image or a 35mm prime lens = even better because of light and angle. I set up about 10 seats from the stage.
Something is different between the VG10 and VG20 in handling low light and noise, I was wondering if the new AVCHD codec is handling low light better.
I was hoping Cliff 622 could give some input and see if he was also getting better results.
