Sony PC Help

I'm thinking of buying a new pc mainly to make movies using Screenblast. I currently have the older model vaio which uses usb1.0 and is really slow when it comes to using screenblast.

Does anyone have any experience with the new Sony's that are out specifically the vgcra 710g (the new cooling technology is what scares me a little) or should I get the RZ56g model.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Sue

Inasmuch as this is the SONY media software forum it may seem a little blasphemous for me to say this ... buy why restrict yourself to SONY computers? Yes, they're good machines, but they're not required for the Screenblast software. Head on over to Wal*Mart and look around. Chances are the cheapest computer on the shelf (probably under $500 including a 17" monitor) will be far far faster than what you are using now, and not much behind anything else under $1500 as far as performance is concerned. The only extras i might consider are more memory and an extra hard drive (probably $100 each).

I really loved my Sony the best out of all the pc's I've owned, inclduing dell, gateway and hp. It takes any software I throw at it and it has never given me any problems hardware or software related.

I just might scale down to the RS series since the others might be a little over-kill.

Thanks for your help.
