I read on Sony's Vegas Hardware compatibility list that the PDX10 will only deliver mono audio even if both XLR channels have different inputs.
As a test I plugged an ECM MS5 stereo mic (that has two XLR outs and requires 48 volt phantom power) and heard stereo in the headphones and saw it on the meters.
Sure enough, when I captured it into a Vegas 5.0b timeline via Video Capture 5.0b the stereo tracks came is as a single mono signal.
Looking around the forum I found that ScenalyzerLive from Austria can be substituted for Video Capture and will bring in the stereo tracks on a PDX10, along with other features that outshine Video Capture.
Another post said that Ulead VideoStudio 7's capture utility will bring in the stereo--although a bit clunkily.
Aside from these two solutions, does anyone know of better ones?
More importantly, why would Sony not fully support one of its own DVCAM cameras?
If two other apps can bring in the stereo tracks, why can't Video Capture?
