Sony PLEASE patch to support Kepler GPU's....

Seriously, it's been 4 months or more since the last patch was released and I'm getting sick and tired of checking back here week after week only to see the same old 896 version from April.

The new Nvidia CUDA cores have been on the market since last year and for those of us who utterly rely on GPU accelerated rendering to create videos in a timely manner this is unacceptable.

I refuse to downgrade my system to obsolete hardware just to get Vegas to work properly. The entire reason I went with this product over the many free video editing alternatives was expressly for GPU accelerated rendering and now this is useless to me.

I don't care if it's CUDA or NVENC, anything is better than CPU, and that's with a 4770k @ 4.8ghz. Even my old GTX260 could out perform one of the fastest CPUs available.

Didn't you post a similar rant a couple of months ago?

Since the SCS developers don't visit these forums much, if at all, you'd be better off emailing support: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/support/technicalsupport.asp

However, with v13 most likely to be released sometime soon (based on past history), v12 may not be patched any further.

See release notes of VegasPro12 Build 670 for an indication of where the SCS code is headed. Read the details.

Here's the link to the release notes:

Note the two links in the 4.0 System Requirements section:

Supported Hardware (which is actually GPU accelleration - http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro/gpuacceleration

The take away..... "Vegas Pro™ 12 leverages the processing capabilities of modern GPUs (Graphic Processing Units) using the industry-standard OpenCL™ framework. Rather than being tied to a single manufacturer or technology, this hardware-agnostic approach enables Vegas Pro 12 users to enjoy remarkable performance improvements across a broad range of popularly-priced, widely available GPU devices.

The better a discrete GPU supports OpenCL, the better it will perform with Vegas/VMS.
