Of the video formats that the Sony PMW-EX1 camera shoots in, are there *any* that Sony Vegas cannot use? Specifically, I want to use HQ 1920x1080 interlaced (HQ 1080/60i), and the Sony Vegas help system does not specifically mention it.
The Vegas options have many good settings that are not shown or are grayed out. Don't be misled as I was at first. EG there is no preset render for 1920.1080.30P but as an example just select Main Concepts Mpeg2 and choose say the 1440x1080x60i preset then go into custom and change the 1440 to 1920, change interlaced to progressing, change the quality from "High 1440" to "High" and set your bit rate at 35Mbps and you will get a full HD .m2t file. Then play it from a PS3 to a big screen TV and be prepared to be blown away.
Thanks for the responses. As of yesterday, we shot in that format.
When I attempted to import the resulting MP4 file into Vegas, however, Vegas said, "An error occurred while opening one or more files. The file is an unsupported format."
I talked to Sony tech support yesterday and could not resolve the issue.
Thanks for all your help. Today a Sony tech support person (for the camera) gave me the link for the *new* version of Clip Browser, which handles the format I used. The first release of Clip Browser (1.0) only accommodates 2 formats, neither of which was the one I used.

Hello Mike
I have done as you suggest but have couple of questions.
What do you set your data rates to for smart rendering in V8Pro.
I used Max 40Mb, Ave 35Mb, Min 20Mb.
For audio it appears that you have to let it render as MPEG.
It would be nice if the camera's original MPEG2/PCM files could somehow be removed from the MPEG4 or MXF wrapper and repackaged to be played on a PS3 without any rendering.
