Noticed, but I don't recall Sony ever confirming it did or why it does.

I had this filter set as a default video effect until I noticed that my images were haloing and way over sharpened. That's when I realized that I can't leave it in there as a default since it sharpens every time. Two renders thru this filter and the output is ruined.

0 is a good setting for some stuff , i dont think i ever went past about 5 ...

also look at your scope when you have the sharpen filter ...... it does change

If 0 is even bit too much I do a simple composition with the Sharpen FX applied on the event on track one and the copied event without FX in track two. Track's Level slider then helps adjusting the Sharpen FX in smaller ranges.

... but wouldn't it be better if zero was zero?

(zero being a bit too much is a weird concept!)

I'm with you, Peter. Zero should be a null.
