Bump.

I'm curious as well. Any comment from Sony folks?

Thanks,
Matt

Are the flyers from Sony or someone else? Maybe someone's selling off old inventory.

Meanwhile, anyone have any opinions on this el cheapo fx package?

Elcheapo audio fx package.
I have it. I think I got it with my Sound Forge 6.0.
Did you listen/download the free samples?
You get you're money's worth at the price they're asking, for sure.

Defnitely. Yes, it comes with Sound Forge 6.

I remember awhile back SPOT mentioning about the (current topic, I think) sound effects package; something having to do with movie sound effects, etc.

I believe SPOT said that there were rights issues, thus it hadn't been released.

It sure would be nice if it saw the light of day.

Any idea of where one could see the flyer? Web reference? What does the flyer say?

Thanks.

A very nice sound effects package that would be great for $400 :
Sound Forge
Noise Reduction
Acid Pro

Ok, I'm out..! ¦P

I received Sony's Summer 2004 catalog in the mail yesterday, and there is indeed a five volume sound effects package listed for $400. Interestingly, the page for it includes the notation "New!" I don't know if it's just an old page that they still haven't removed from the catalog, or if there is a new package replacing the old, or.....?

The free downloads page includes a link to download a catalog in PDF form (it's an old one, Fall '03, sound effects package isn't in there) as well as a link to request a catalog in the mail. I assume if you request one by mail, you'd get the Summer 2004 one like I did. (Or Fall 2004, if they don't send it out for a while. <g>)

I could scan the page in question and put it online if anyone's interested. I have no idea what would happen if you call Sony and try to purchase the package; I haven't got $400 to spend on sound effects... I didn't even notice a product number to reference when ordering.

Hey, wasn't that the files? If so, they're still available for free (but I may be wrong...):
