Sony Text Gen. Media - movement choppy

I'm tinkering with different things trying to learn my way around in VMS6. One of the things I'm trying to do is put some simple text on the screen and have it scale and fade.

I took a sample movie clip of about 10 seconds and placed it on the timeline. I think went into the text bar and created a new Sony Text Generated Media event.

On the configuration of that event I set the text size to 36 pt (I've tried various sizes) and created two keyframes, one at the start and one at the end. For the starting keyframe I set the text scaling to 0 and click the drop shadow box. For the ending keyframe I set the text scaling to 1.0 and left the drop shadow box checked.

Back to the editor, I then set a fade offset so the text would fade onto the screen and then fade off the screen when it reached its maximum size.

All this works great and I understand whats going one - when I try and render this, however - the generated results makes the text look just horrible. It is not a smooth scroll by ANY means. Is there a way to smooth this type of process out so it looks descent?

I haven't done much scaling of text - but I think I would use the credit roll zoom in /out feature. its pretty flexible. Pan in or out would be another option. As far as how the text looks I believe someone else had an issue with that and when they changed the frame size (at the top of the text properties box) to 720 x 480 (somehow it was half of that and made for blurry text).

Thanks. using the pan/scan worked great and definately gave much better results than trying to scale the text from the media generator.
