Have you rec'd an e-mail from tech support lately? I did. The technician's name (sorry, can't remember the name right now) was followed by a Sony Pictures Digital reference, not Sonic Foundry.
DGrob, just curious, but where are you seeing that? I looked at that page and saw four references to "SonicFoundry Vegas" and one reference to "SonicFoundry Sound Forge". I didn't see a single mention of Sony.
If you go inside the Vegas forum on DMN or Creative Cow, the main banners now say Sony Vegas in both places. The main menu on the Cow still says Sonic Foundry but will supposedly be changed within a week. I never see the menu at DMN (always go straight to the forum page)
Mind you I'm not the least negative about this. If you take the kind of talent that built SF and enable it with the kind of support that Sony can provide, this may prove to be a very interesting next few years. I'm just facinated by process, and I intend to enjoy the show. DGrob
Speaking of the process in which Sony is intergrating the old SoFo products...
The new Screenblast brand broducts (ACID and Video) don't seem to have the great product details on the website like the non-intergrated products (Vegas and Sound Forge). Neigther of those poducts have a demo that's downloadable, there is no more screen shots showing the what the programs looks like, and when you go to compare them against other products using the "compare" menu option on the right, the comparisons stink (example: Screenblast Video says it supports 24 formats, while the competitors stupport only 3/4.)
I relaize that the intergration will take a little while, but maybe on some things (like changing the web site) thwy should wait until they finish a while part instead of putting things up as they do them. The lack of demos (which I read could be a legal issue), lack of screenshots, and VERY poor product comparisons didn't make me happy.
Take a look for yourself. They could be better. I'm sure they'll fix it though.
