Not likely, particularly now that Vegas 6 has been slated to be released at NAB 05

sony has stated in the past (as have other companies) that 64 bit editions will not be released until a 64 bit winxp is out of beta ....

which makes sense

Is it true that XP64 went gold & will be out by the end of this month?

XP64 is indeed Gold and will start shipping I believe next month.

cool.

So, now... Sony... :) WinXP64 is no longer a beta OS. Will there be a V6 for 64-bit, and if there will be, will it be released by NAB/as soon as Win64 is out?

Hello... remember its Windows. A released Microsoft product is on par with other companies beta releases, a Microsoft beta is on par with a alpha release and so on. I shudder to think how many bugs will be in a 64bit version of Windows.

ive been using the beta versions for almost a year and have no problems really (in a test system) , though lack of workable codecs, drivers and applications really are the main problem (though 64 bit drivers are now out for most common hardware)

BJ_M, do all your 32 bit apps run OK with XP64?
B_JM wrote on 4/1/2005, 11:01 AM
nope - though have not tried many ... using some 64bit apps mostly ...

i dont know if vegas will work because no 64 bit NET

many multimedia things dont work

when codecs written for 64 bit are more available - they will rock (i have some already)
