Sony Vegas, Cineform and Intel core i7

My story: I was having hard time rendering a project with cineform 444 created by R2CF batch to CF 1080p 444

During render, Sony Vegas randomly crashed, stop response...

So I go to Bios to disable the Hyper Thread, everything seem working fines now...

Did I miss some post about this issue on this forum?

My system: intel core i7 940, asus p6t deluxe v2, 12gb consair dominator 1600 2x intel solid state hdd on raid 0, sony vegas 8.0c

Something weird is going on there.

You can also change the render threads in the preferences for Vegas. You can even go into the "internal preferences" and make other changes.

The head of Cineform posts here and he has said they have core i7 machines at Cineform.
