These ARE pretty cool but I tend to get confused when I'm going from Vegas to Premiere to Avid, or Premiere to AfterEffects - FCP to Motion, etc. Maybe I need to also invest in a few 'Cheap' keyboards for the various Apps... but I would hate changing out keyboards all day. I guess I could also 'Map' the keyboard(s) to be the same as another App too.

Also, since I tend to use multiple NLE's & various other Software... I've noticed that the transition is easier for me to use the DropDown menus as apposed to the Shortcuts. Just seems that the default DropDown menu structure tends to be more similar.(But there are certain shortcuts I use)

I've got the Worldtech Vegas keyboard -

It's good but I still find myself going "now what was that shortcut?"

A site I love is www.keyxl.com. Just type in the name of the app that you are using and bang, a list of shortcuts comes up. It seems to have everything I use.

I looked at those keyboards. I would much rather have the real thing than stickers, but I do like my cordless keyboard.

One question to those that have the stickers, or even the real boards... Is it more difficult to use for something like word processing, or do the different colors not bother you.

The different colours aren't a problem, what is though is the utterly c**p key mechanisms on my Worldtech Vegas keyboard. When I'm editing I can do a lot of regular typing a good keyboard to start with is vital to me. Having a shift key that might engage on the third belting drives me nuts. All the other keys bind as well.

On the other hand the Unicomp buckling spring keyboard that I'm typing on now is a joy to use. I cannot recommend these keyboards enough for general word processing. They're around USD 200 each but I've had this one for nearly 10 years and it's only just run in. It's also repairable. A great eaxmple of the engineering that once made "Made In USA" mean something.

I have been using a worldtech keyboard since Vegas 4 or 5 and have no issues with keys sticking or anything else. It seems to be well made to me and none of the letters or shortcuts on the keys have faded.

I haven't had any problems with my Worldtech wireless keyboard/mouse either.

Hi

I have the editors keys on some keyboards - you cag get them from www.editorskeys.com too. You need to clean the keys very good before putting the stickers on, because else you will find them go off again.

I like a good solid keyboard too, actually I am using a gamers keyboard right now without all the extras on it - purely for typing.

I did buy mine a long time ago, it isn't and they didn't have a wireless model back then. Quite possibly they're now using a better keyboard. I can't complain too much as it was pretty cheap, in fact they'd discounted the price and thrown in a Shuttle. Maybe they were just getting rid of the original ones prior to bringing out the new model with the unclunky keys.

You used to be able to get those key-board condoms rubber thing that just sat on your key board. They should supply that with the stickers
They were also great when editing Idols stuff and you puke on your keyboard just take it off shake and you are ready to roll

There's a company doing preprinted keyboard condoms here. Unfortunately they only do them for Mac keyboards and applications.
