sony vegas (lol trying to make my own movie)

im trying to make a movie for sof2 an online computer game. i am using demos from the game, the demos are saved as DM_2004 files, i cannot open those up in this program, what other programs can i use, or how do i convert the file... please help me here

Did you capture thyem yourself with a screen recorder or were they on the software cd? Maybe you can try and rename the file extension to avi, mpg, mpeg, mov or something. For example, if you have a vob-file from a DVD it's really an Mpeg file so by renaming it to *.mpg it's playable in Vegas (though it's not recommended to use mpg's in Vegas, it works best with avi's).

It's a start anyway.

check out www.planetquake.com on how to edit Quake demos. That shold apply (since SOF2 is a Quake based engine). It's a completelt different ball of wax then video. :)
