Sony Vegas Movie Studio 12 Platinum Will Not Open

Hello, I recently purchased Sony's Movie Studio 12 Platinum and installed it, got my code in and everything. When it was finally done, I tried to open it, yet I got this exact message,"An error occurred starting Movie Studio Platinum. Error 0x80070002 (message missing) Failed to initialize script host." I looked online for a solution and first repaired my Microsoft.NET framework, and that didn't do anything. Then I tried all sorts of other stuff, yet nothing works. I really need help and I would really appreciate it if you can help or try. Thanks!

It might be helpful to know what operating system you're working on -- and which antivirus program you're running..

Meantime, uninstall the program.

Go to Windows Update and check for updates. Download all - including non-critical -- updates. Run Windows Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter.

Ensure you have the latest version of Quicktime.

Turn off your antivirus program and reinstall Movie Studio.

I have Windows 7 64 Bit and i'm running AVG Anti-Virus Software.
And windows updates, last time I used them, they kind of made it to where Chrome and some of my other games aren't working so updating my windows is kind of not able to be done, plus it floods me with updates, even after I update it. I do have the latest version of Quicktime, so I think I will try to temporarily disable AVG and try again. Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, same message appears, maybe I will have to turn on windows update yet again. Anyway, are there any other programs I need for Movie Studio Platinum 12 to work?

Hold CTRL+SHIFT while starting up Vegas. This will trigger 'factory reset' of Vegas. It's a long shot, but I might solve the issue.

It didn't work but thanks for the advise. I think I might try installing a bunch of Windows updates.
