Sony Vegas Pro 12 Chroma Keyer Not Working

Gecko Guy wrote on 6/29/2014, 2:42 PM
hello everyone i am new here and i am a smaller channel on youtube with 2300 subscribers.

https://www.youtube.com/user/GeckoGuy31127

my problem is my chroma keyer is not working. i select the tool and use thee eye dropper and it does nothing. it does nothing when i tried to key out the grass as a test shot. i cant key out my muslin green screen or pictures for that matter.

here are my pc specs:

EVGA GTX 760- gpu
asus maximus hero 6- mobo
x3 1tb hard drives
120gb ssd
evga 1000w psu
windows 7 ultimate
16gb RAM
32" 1080p 60hz samsung hdtv- monitor

everything else runs just fine like my new blue titler plug in.

and sometimes it gives me the "not working" error and closes sony vegas. butr i read that deleting the temp folders in the app data solves this.

i am running gpu accelerated, or at least i think.

i absolutely love sony products and i even have a sony handycam hdr cx210 and i am looking into getting an alpha A65 SLR as my next upgrade.

Have you perhaps accidentally pushed the FX Bypassed button (just above the preview window)?

all i see is a video output fx. i clicked on it and it did nothing. same with choosing the chroma keyer on the timeline.

I meant the button that is circular - half white/half black, next to the o/p FX.

If that is pressed, the all FXs are bypassed.

is there a helpful link to stop the "not working" problem? i have the ram and gpu to run it. just curious as to why it stops sometimes.

"is there a helpful link to stop the "not working" problem?"
A link? What do you mean? Having the By-Pass is not a problem. It is a designed-in Function of By-Passing the FX-ing which, in this instance, you elected to do. Now, if we DIDN'T have that option then THAT would be a problem.

"i have the ram and gpu to run it. "
What are you referring to? Please explain.

"just curious as to why it stops sometimes."
It stops working because you had clicked on it.

Grazie

a link as in a web link on why sony vegas stopped working and or the solution to the problem.

i have plenty of ram to run sony vegas and a good graphics card to support it. at the most i was using 3 gb of ram when running sony vegas.

and i didnt click out of sony vegas. i would be editing something and all of a sudden it would go to a white screen and give the not working sign.

Well, the GTX760 is not as well supported as earlier 500 series. Which driver are you currently on? Have you tried different drivers? Have you tried switching GPU acceleration off?
