Sony Vegas Pro 12 - tagging

I have used the SONY Media Manager for quite some time now and completely. I would like to start using the new tagging in Version 12 but in my short bit of testing I have not been able to get the tagging to work the way I would expect tagging to work. I have searched for some better information on using the tagging functionality, but I haven't found anything in depth enough. Here are some things that I have found in trying to use this feature:

1. I have noticed that I can apply a tag to a clip, save or not save a project, open a new project, import the same media and the tag was still applied to the clip. What I doesn’t happen is, when the clip is imported, I don't get a list of tags under the tag folder on the left but I do see the tag below. Once I add a new tag to the clip, then all of the applied tags show up in the list. Seems to me that the tags should show as soon as the media is imported.

2. In SONY media manager I could make a copy of multiple tags and "Prime" the list of tags prior to applying tags. I don't see a way for this new tagging venture to do this. This is hard to explain, so let me put it this way. I shoot mainly sports, and set my tagging up similar to a file folder system:

2013
BASKETBALL
Bob
Mike
Sam
OPPOSING_TEAM_1
threepointer
freethrow
pregame
dunk
so on and so forth.....
OPPOSING_TEAM_2
threepointer
freethrow
pregame
dunk
so on and so forth.....

So normally for each game I can just copy the entire list under each OPPOSING TEAM and paste it under the next team. I can easily use twenty commonly used tags in each project that I have to stop and type out. I can use one blank media clip and apply multiple tags to it and just import that clip into each project to easily get the tags into the project but that would lead to other issues.

I really hope that this makes some sort of sense to someone out there. If anyone else has other experiences that can help me I sure would appreciate some help on this, or any other work-around.

I am not sure if media manager is compatible with other versions of MSSQL. It always want to install SQL Express 2005, but that is not listed as an available version for windows 8. So for now, I will probably continue to use SONY MM 2.4 until I can understand a bit more about this Vegas Pro 12 tagging feature.

~~UPDATE~~
Last night I installed SONY Media Manager 2.4b on my WINDOWS 8, by-passing all compatibility alert messages, and it seems to have installed just fine and works. Made copies of my Libraries after resetting permissions on them and the ones I tested opened up just fine in my Windows 8 install.
This is a good thing.
I also tested importing the media that was tagged only with VP12 tagging. When I imported that media into MM, the tags showed up just fine. I just wish that the tags that were set via MM would show up in the VP12 tagging solution.
