I have seen some very cool videos created using Vegas. I would like to learn more about the advanced techniques of Vegas. Does anyone know where to take a class or purchase a book or dvd? Again looking for more advanced learning.
Thanks
There are LOTS of "how to" videos on YouTube for learning different aspects of using Vegas Movie Studio. Go to YouTube and search on "Vegas Movie Studio" and similar phrases, you may be surprised in what you find.
VASST has a very good DVD set for Vegas Movie Studio 9 featuring Douglass Spotted Eagle. He goes through basic and advanced techniques as well as how to use DVD Archidtech Studio 4.5. This DVD was worth every penny. You can see samples on the VASST website.
I ordered Sony Vegas Movie Studio Training from gorden.white@btinternet.com two weeks ago and still have not received any confirmation. I would also like a training video but I think I threw my money out the window with this guy. If I can ever get my refund back I think I might try the one Tomsde suggested.
Be careful though, I browsed through videos also, but the other day I found a folder in my Vegas Studio folders, and just clicked on it - it was a virus. That was the only place I can think of that I would have gotten it - or some of these websites people are telling you to go to. So just be careful when you are 'clicking' - not everybody has good intentions out there.
I also recently purchased Essential Training for Vegas Movie Studio 8 on ebay. The DVD was only $9.99 and is quite good, not quite as good as the VASST training, but she did manage to point out some stuff that Mr.Spotted Eagle didn't mention (but consider it's also much cheaper). There haven't been huge changes to Vegas MS since the last version, I think they just added the New Project wizard and better AVCHD support. The Platinum Pro edition has some nice goodies like Cinescore and Sound Forge Studio.
BTW, did you check out the tutorials here? They are very basic, but a good starting point. To me they are better than the little "Show Me How" scripts built into studio--which I find difficult to follow.
You can check out samples of VASST training on their website and also on YouTube. The VASST training also convers DVD Archidtech Studio--which I found to be emmensely useful.
